Hello there!
I’m Fariba Shafiee (Farsi: فریبا شفیعی), a Los Angeles-based character artist, 3D artist, and world-builder
with a background in architecture and over four years of experience in the entertainment industry.
I’ve contributed to various blockbuster projects in different roles, including as an environment artist
for Lost in Space and Star Trek: Picard, a 3D modeler on Westworld, and a character artist for
a mixed-reality performance, as well as for VTubers on Twitch.
I obtained my postgraduate degree in the Fiction & Entertainment program at the Southern California
Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) and graduated in Architecture & Urban Design from Städelschule
Architecture Class (SAC) in Frankfurt.
My artistic practice explores design fiction through video games and multimedia platforms, blending
folklore, critical theory, and character design to create worlds that bridge the mythical and the futuristic.
I am especially interested in interspecies hybridity, posthuman embodiment, and the fluid boundaries
between human and nonhuman life—speculating on how cyborgs and other beings generate new forms
of kinship and coexistence.
Let’s connect! <3
